Maybe the duplicates should have the Available property set to False, so that the user has a chance to modify them.

Also, the function could be applied to a single or to multiple objects. If multiple objects are selected, a single copy of each one is created.

Maybe another option besides "Duplicate product" would be "Duplicate product..." (meaning a dialog would be displayed asking how many copies to do).

We have decided to use a single-product copy-and-paste approach: the user select a product, choose "Copy product record", change category (or stay in the same) and choose "Paste product record". This creates a new record with the same data.

Also, the user could choose "Paste multiple product records...", which will show a dialog window asking how many times to paste. Maybe this options is not that useful. When an user needs several copies in the Window Explorer interface, just press Paste several times. We may discard this option.

There should be some configuration options for the creation of the new copies, for example, if the Available option should be set to false or not.

Implemented.

Copy one product at a time only.
Paste one product at a time in the currently selected category.
Allow for Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V keyboard shorcuts.
Duplicated products have the Available option set to false.

Closing.

Reopening.

After checking the last usability report we have concluded that we need generic copy-paste feature, for single or multiple products.
