Post subject:  Support product attributes (webmakers contrib)

hi,

i use webmakers contrib on www.forless.ch which allows me to assign various product attributes (like size or colors) to articles - even with different prices associated to it (like XXL costing +2 CHF)

would be very lovely if your software could support these - otherwise great software (but unfortunately not very usable without support for product options)

afaik this contrib is fairly well known

thanks for your attention!

best
pino

I have not had a chance to check WebMakers version of OSC. I wonder if the product-attributes management is the same than the original OSC.

Anyway, the OSCPMWin application will suport product-attributes soon. I didn't write the support before because my local users don't use them, so I wasn't even aware of them.

So, stay tuned. I've raised the priority of this in the bugtracker... too many requests.

Post subject:  Batch Attributes

It would be nice to have Attribute Sets that can be configured such as small, medium, large, XL +$2.00 that can be applied to several products at once. It would delete the existing attributes and create new ones. That way when you want to charge $3.00 for XL, you can select all the products in the tshirt section and simply reapply the batch attribute.

You can take a look at the Attribute Set Mod, but it lacks the functionality of being able to update the price one you apply an attribute set.

Anyway.. Beautiful program.

I'm not asking that you support the attribute set module, simply that when handling attributes, that we could define sets within the product manager and do batch applies across multiple products. Or do batch Option Pricing updates. The Os Commerce people were great in allowing XL to be a different price for every product, but they didn't provide anyway to change all XL's to $3.00 from $2.00 :-)

Thanks

Taking note of that. :)

Seems like there has been quite a few requests for this feature - is there any news on when it may happen??

Many thanks

Post subject:  Product attributes

I have recently downloaded this fantastic product, and have to say its only weakness for me is the lack of product attribute support - please can you give an indication when this will be included??? (Even if only to delete the relevant entries in the product attributes table when deleting the main product - this table is a monster if you have several size variants of every product and needs to be kept trim!)

My first priority right now is to release the SQL-HTTP version of the application, which will not require the direct MySQL database connection, because that is causing the top support-request problems I receive eveyday.

That is already implemented, but it is in beta testing. (you can download it from http://www.mariovaldez.net/software/osc ... _versions/ )

As soon as I release the final version of this (the SQL-HTTP final implementation) I can focus again in the extra features and other bug fixes. I know attributes support is also a popular request and I will implement it. I hope I will write it soon.

Want a date? Within the next two months.

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.
