Post subject:  Useing CRW Loaded 6 with modified mySQL fields

Hi,

I like the idea of an offline editor for the product database. My site uses the Chain Reaction Web "loaded 6" version, which has a number of contributions loaded into it. Some of these change the products table format.

Do you have any guidelines for modifying the test table to match the products table fieldnames on my site?

I would be happy to supply an EP datafile for you to look at!

(or try pepperspetpantry.chainreactionweb.com, the DNS is updating tonight for the site launch!)

Hi. First, a clarification, the OSCPMWin application is not an offline editor, You need to be connected to your osCommerce server to edit the store products.

I know just a little about the CRE Loaded 6 version of osCommerce. A few minutes ago I just downloaded and installed it in a test server to see how much are the tables modified. CRE uses several extra tables, add several extra fields to existing tables, but only modifies one field (products.products_model, which is bigger).

So, it seems, you can use the OSCPMWin application with your store (but first test it, I won't give you any warranty).

Field names are hardcoded in the OSCPMWin application, they cannot be modified without modifying the sources.

If what you want is support for the extra fields provided with CRE Loaded 6, I will take note of your suggestion, but my priority is the original osCommerce core features, maybe later some extra modules.

Tell me what you think, Don, maybe I didn't understood your posting or maybe I'm missing the point of your request.

I Use CreLoaded 6 v4 and oscpm works perfect. The only thing that you cannot change are the pics from the dynamic mo pics contrib. oscpm only changes de deafult OSCommerce pic. All other values seem to be changed and inserted in the right tables in the database. Also you can not change attributes.

Hi,

I also use CRE Loaded, this time the latest version 6.1. see www.onecad.co.uk. I addition I also have a number of extra fields which I have added myself. A admin notes field for logging changes to price etc and a RRP field. I also use all three product images in the product description and the page falls over if they are not present.

I would LOVE to get this working and as soon as I can will take a look at your source.

For now I just wanted to voice my approval of a move to incorporate CRE, I know there has been talk in their forum = how I found your great work.

Keep it up! Amazing!!

Post subject:  osCMax Package

I am using osCmax (a loaded version similar to CRE Loaded) from aaabox.com
I have not yet been able to connect to the database, I have sent of a mail to my server admin, as I imagine remote connections are being refused.

I will let you know how it turns out, I am hoping for a big thumbs up!

Thanx,
Mike Z

Hi. Just in case, please upgrade to the latest version (0.1.2.436), because older 0.1.2.xxx versions have some problems and do not show useful error messages. (With the new versions, if you get an error message, it may be more meaningful).

By mid-January there are plans to provide userd-defined custom product fields. So, if your store uses some extra fields not available in the normal osCommerce distribution, you could add them to be able to list them and edite them.

If you have any question, comment or suggestion, please post a message.
