Post subject:  Name of Product Is Missing ...problem!

Hi,

I've just installed and set it up but when I try and add a new product I get an error pop up saying 'name of product is missing', but its not!

I have tried again and again.

Am I missing something?
TIA
Darren

Hi. The name of the product is "cleaned" and then stored in a memory array. Then it is checked (in all the languages available in your store) to see if it is empty or not. If it is empty, the editing focus is set to the Product Name field.

I can only think the product name is being deleted by the "cleaning" routine. That usually means there are too many invalid characters in the product name.

So I have a few questions:
What version of the OSCPMWin application are you using?
How many languages does your store have?
If you use more than one language, are you filling the product name in all languages?
Does this happen with any product name?
What alphabet / language are you using?

Also, please select one or more products in the products list of the OSCPMWin application and from the menu select "Copy selected products", then "Copy selected products as text", and paste it in these forums or in an email message (and send it to mario@mariovaldez.org).

Please answer these questions and send me a sample product text (as explained above) and I'll try to figure out what is the problem. :)

I bet 3 of them were not persons but search bots. They kind of like to read these forums but never leave answers.

 Seriously, your problem is a bit weird, so I think nobody knows for sure what the problem could be.
