Post subject: Can not upload files
PostPosted: 05 Jun 2003, 04:31
Hello,

I am using the CMS module version 0.6.0b6. After successfull installing, I want to upload some files to a page. The following error will be displayed when I press on the 'File manager' icon:

031. File uploads are disabled in this server.

Can anyone give me a hint how to enable file uploads?

Thanx,

Gunter

That message means file uploads are disabled in PHP. If you are the administrator of the web server change the configuration of PHP modifying the php.ini file. If you have no access to the php.ini file, ask the administrator to enable file uploads. If you are using a server from a hosting company maybe they don't allow file uploads.

I've the same problem in Version 0.6. In Version 0.5.1 it is no problem to upload files, also in the file modul of phprojekt. So may it is a problem wit the temp upload directory?

Because I was sure file upload is possible on my server, I ignore in fileman.php the function "$cm_upload_enabled". I've just copied from if to else. This is not elegant, but it works now.

I think there is a problem with the upload limit. My server allows to upload files with max. 20MB.

But in the uploadlimit it is displayed in CMS4P as 0K.

Marop Naito:

So, it worked with 0.5, then 0.6 tells you that uploads are disabled... but they are not. And the upload limit is shown as Ok and not as a number. Right?

I think the CMS code is not detecting properly if uploads are enabled or not.

May you give me more information about your server (OS, version of PHP, web server)? Also, if you are using 0.6, in the admin console of the CMS, select the option "Show information on the current PHP setup", then search for "upload_max_filesize" in the "PHP core" section. What are its values?
