Hi again, Mario:

In spite of it is not certainly a bug (or maybe is), i found that the length of the product description window is limited, and in many cases too short.

This happens when you add a new product from the product manager or when the product was added from the admin with a short description.

In the case the product was created from the admin with a very long description, the product manager "extends" the window and you can put whatever you want., but only in this case

It would be very interesting to have a bigger window to work properly with any product.

Regards from Spain.

Hi. Let me see if I understand this. Do you want a bigger window with a bigger text area to write? Or is it that you are having problems writing more data to a product description?

The expected bahavior is that you can add more data to the text description no matter the original content. There has been a couple of users who reported this before, usually associated with:
1.- Very big text descriptions.
2.- Not ANSI text in the descriptions.

However I had problems reproducing that problem.

So, do you just want a bigger window? or is there a problem when adding more text to your products?

Regards,

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.

Hi Mario:

I downloaded build 365 with the same result.

The problem is not related to the physical size of the product_description window. It is related to the capacity of that FIELD.

After several tries, i found out that the SIZE of the FIELD "product_description" is 1024 when a product is added from the OSCPMWIN.

When the product was created in the ADMIN and after that edited in the OSCPMWIN, it doesn´t happen. It is like the SIZE of the FIELD has been auto-resize to a bigger amount.

In my case, that "1024 characters" amount is too short for my products being imposible to use OSCPMWIN to add products.

ok? or maybe you need an explanation in Spanish, due to my english?

Regards from Spain.

I have confirmed this to be a bug. By design the capacity of the product description TMemo control is 32K in W9x and 64K in W2K/XP. Soooo... something is really wrong.

I'm checking my files... it seems this bug has been since the beginning... even before version 0.1.0.1. :?

I'll fix it tonight.

Better keep the writting in English, so most people can read this too. Let's turn to Spanish only if things get unintelligible between us. :P

Luis:

I have just uploaded a new version (0.1.0.368) with this problem fixed.

It seems I set the limit to 1024 on purpose. So, technically it was not a bug... but a badly written requirement.

Now the limit is 32,000 characters. Please test it.

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.
