I thought this might help.
This site has a great HTML open source editor. There are examples in the patches section on how to implement in php.

Psymon, maybe the WYSIWYG HTML editor included with the CM module is not the most advanced in its kind. Actually is very old code used in an old project. I used it because I was very familiar with it and because it's far more easier (for me) to maintain my own code.

However, there are not so many features in the XSDHeditor that the current editor don't have. Maybe the colorpicker (my original colorpicker was a modification of some Microsoft code that I was not sure to distribute along with GPL code, so I excluded it). The colorpicker of the XSDHeditor is not labeled as GPL. However it was written at WebFX and those guys usually release also under GPL.

So, is anything you like more in the XSDHeditor or something you don’t like in the current HTML editor?. I'm not dismissing this suggestion; maybe in the next release I'll be offering both editors. But if it's just a simple thing, it may be easier to add it directly to the included editor.

Also, I was giving a higher priority to adding a WYSIWYG HTML editor for Mozilla users (thanks to the now enabled Midas interface).

Anyway, I'm open to your comments and suggestions.

Regards,

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.

Just the colorpicker, and possibly a way to upload and insert images through the editor.

Being cross-browser compatible is definately a plus.

Just adding to the wishlist...=]

Thank you again for all your generous work.

Psymon

How about using the spaw HTML editor from solmetra. This editor is really good, highly customizable with features like adding/deleting rows from a table, piking images in a predefined gallery, clean HTML tool ...

Great tool that should interest the CMS users

Hi Maximil,

As I told Psymon, I'm not against using third-party editors, but the integration is a bit complex (most editors don't post-process the URLs for example, and that is essential, preview is also a hassle, etc). And a disadvantage of the Solmetra editor is that only work with IE 5.5.

Anyway, I'll check it out. I think I'll have to modify the current code to ease the integration with Spaw or any other editor. The trick is to do just one set of modifications that work with most popular editors.

I cannot give you a target release for this, but be sure I'm evaluating it. :)

Regards,

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.
