Hello Mario,

I followed the development of OSCPMWIN but it seems development has stopped at this moment?
OSCPMWIN was running OK for some time but now i get a socket error # 11004 when trying to upload an image to the store.
Creating and Editing products is no problem only adding/deleting images
The upload script is there and the settings in images are OK.
How can i get rid of this error.

I am not behind a proxy and the error occurs with and without firewall running

Using the latest version.

Hi. Development has not stopped, only slowed down a bit. (I'm father of a newborn baby and my nigths are no longer as quiet as they used to be). :)

If this is a new error and you haven't changed anything (the config of OSCPMWin, your OS network config [including client-network services] or installed a new patch [like SP2 for XP]) then I suspect something in the server changed.

That socked error is a DNS error. Please change your configuration to use the full server name or the IP number. If your server is a shared hosting service then I think you cannot use the IP number, then just try the full server name or variations of it.

If you suspect of your own workstation, test the OSCPMWin in another computer with the same settings (you can save the settings in a .ini file and then load them in another computer).

Tell me what you find out, Aernout.

Regards,

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.

I was wondering wy images upload would not work. I think the update op windows SP2 causes the problem. I now installed your latest version of january 18 and it works again.

And congratiulations becoming a father of a new world citizen.
Is it a girl or a boy??

I know all about it pall. I became a father 11 year ago.

By the way. I am testing Shopexpress 2 now. It looks very good. Do you know that program?
If youre interested here is the link:

Maybe you can use some ideas. Unfortunately this is a commercial licence

Anyway thanks for the update and don't spent to long time behind your PC. There is a kid now that needs you to clean his dipers :P

SUCCES

Weird, huh? Maybe it was something in your prior server-side script (that you updated this time to work with version 0.1.1.90).

A boy. I really like him, but my life looks so different now. I'm just trying to figure out my new priorities.

I knew it existed but never tried it. Actually I discovered it after releasing the first version of OSCPMWin, because I asked myself: Am I really the first one writting stuff like this? With the help of Google I discovered ShopExpress. I didn't test it then but I'll check it out later.

(I have downloaded the demo a few minutes ago, and I did a quick check. I have got a couple of new ideas [and several not-so-new ideas], but the rest didn't impress me).

But, hey, if you already have ideas, comments, or suggestions please let me know, Aernout.

He he. Yes, and feeding, bathing, etc. And tons of love. :)

What i like very much about shopexpress is the new order notification. The program connects to the database automatically every 5 minutes and recognizes if the order number has been increased . When it is increased you hear a sound (wav format) warning you there are new orders and shows them in a splash screen with details. I changed the origanal wav file with my own saying "HEY THERE ARE NEW ORDERS YOU HAVE TO WRAP THEM UP" :-) . Also Shopexpress is configured for the header tag controller wich automatically adds description text as header tags and generated keywords and stores the in the datatbase.

Ah, ok. I'm working in a notifier (the OSCommerce Windows Monitor) to check for new orders and provide general stats of the store. Right now I've written the server-side support (so you don't even need a direct connection to the database store as OSCPMWin requires).

Check a discussion thread on http://www.mariovaldez.net/webapps/forums/viewtopic.php?t=163
and the bugtracker entry on http://www.mariovaldez.net/webapps/bugtracker/bug.php?op=show&bugid=108

Tell me what you think, any ideas or comments are welcome.

Yes, I've received several requests for that, but first I should finish the basic support.
